It seemed like quite a while since I played with the gears on the Dawes in order to stop them slipping and to solve the indexing problems.   Ever since I had not had a chance to give it a bit of a test ride to see if it had solved the problems.   A quick ride out along the track behind the house was called for, plenty of chance to try out the gears.

The good news was that all was fine, going up and down I found each gear, no slipping, no indexing problems.   The bigger test will be going up the hill, but for tonight the dirt track and talking to the goats was enough to show the new chain and cables, and lots of work tweaking the indexing has finally got the Dawes into a useable condition.

 

 

The goat was impressed that my gears were working too..
